Volunteer Form
Haldimand & Norfolk Women’s Services (HNWS) is a non-profit organization that provides 24/7 crisis intervention, counselling, advocacy, support and shelter services to assist women and gender-diverse people aged 16 and older, with or without children, who need a safe place from violence. Volunteers support our work in several ways by helping staff provide a safe and supportive environment through a survivor’s journey. Join HNWS and become part of the life-changing work we do with survivors of gender-based violence and their children. Volunteer Requirements: 1. Be 16 years of age or older (except for Volunteer Driver, Moving Support Volunteers and Animal Foster Volunteer, who must be 18 years of age or older). 2. Submit the volunteer application form 3. Provide a current vulnerable sector screening check 4. A letter will be provided upon review of application 5. Attend an interview and have references contacted 6. Attend a volunteer orientation session 7. Sign a confidentiality agreement with HNWS *If you were a former client, you must wait a minimum of 1 year from your last date of service to apply to become a volunteer.
