The counselling program encompasses Urgent Care sessions (up to 6 sessions), Short-Term Counselling (up to 12 sessions, plus 4 follow up sessions), and Therapy (up to 24 session).
This program focuses on creating a safe environment for a woman to explore the impact/imprint left from childhood or recent abuse. The universal aim of these sessions is to provide guidance in developing and reaching goals for change while honoring your choices, thoughts, and feelings in an effort to heal and/or prevent trauma as a result of abuse. Being open and committed to the healing process is an important part of this journey.
HNWS provides counselling through a trauma informed and gendered lens. Counsellors provide guidance in developing and reaching goals for change while honoring personal choices, thoughts, and feelings to heal and/or prevent trauma from abuse. Participation in the women’s counselling program is voluntary. An initial intake is required to determine appropriateness of service. Waitlists apply.
