There are 80 spots available for girls to register and this is based on a first come first served basis. G.I.R.L.S Power Camp team members will contact you via email following your registration to provide additional information and will also be following up prior to camp with a phone call to go over any questions or concerns.
The cost of camp is $100 per camper and the rest is subsidized by community donations and scholarships. Payment can be made via credit card or e-transfer when registering. E-transfer can be sent to gpc@hnws.on.ca and please use the checkout code ‘powercamp25’ if paying via this method. If you require a scholarship to help cover the fees for camp, please reach out to us and we will get you set up with a special checkout code. There is no criteria or proof of income required for a scholarship; we hope this eliminates any barriers for girls who would like to attend the camp but don’t have the budget for it.
If registration is full and you would like to be added to the waitlist, please contact us and provide your camper's name, school and contact information. If spots become available, we will call to offer them in order that folks are added to the list.
All meals will be provided. Please do not bring in any food, drink or snack items, with the exception of a water bottle and water.
Saturday April 12th , the girls will be staying overnight at the camp.
Campers must bring:
- • Sleepwear
- • Sleeping bag and pillow
- • Toiletries, towel and face cloth if needed
- • Change of clothes
Campers may bring:
- • Stuffed animal, blanket, slippers, book
Campers will be taking part in the High Ropes Course, self-defense training, a yoga class and numerous interactive workshops and adventures based upon body image, peer pressure, media pressures and other issues related to girls. Every day the girls will be involved in outdoor and indoor activities regardless of weather. We recommend warm, weather-appropriate clothing, including hats, gloves, snow pants etc. Girls are welcome to bring indoor shoes/slippers to wear inside.
Campers are required to attend the entirety of the camp. If you know that you are unable to attend a day due to sporting events, school activities or for other reasons, please notify us as soon as possible so we can offer your spot to someone on the waitlist. Your registration fee will be refunded as long as you have notified us 2 weeks prior to camp starting. If your camper is not comfortable staying overnight with us, please discuss this with a staff member. While we do encourage campers to challenge their comfort zones and take safe risks, we also do understand that there may be reasons that this is not something folks are comfortable with. If a camper does choose to leave for the overnight portion, it needs to be discussed with staff and the times prearranged.
